Wildlife activists have reported that over 4,000 sea turtles have died.  Biswajit Mohanty, an activist, reported that over 4,000 turtles washed ashore off Odisha coast in the last month.  The majority of them were found between Astaranga and Konark in the Puri district, reported Zeenews.India.com.
